Exam, Report of findings, Adjustment
Your first visit will take 60-90 minutes depending on the nature and severity of your health concerns. We will begin by collecting some standard administrative information so that we can get you started in our filing system. Next you will meet with the Doctor who will take a history of your health concern(s) and conduct a survey of your overall functioning and wellness. We will then conduct a series of examinations in order to arrive at some conclusions about the nature of your health concern(s). Given what you have told the Doctor during the history and what he discovers through examination a treatment plan will be devised and recommended to you during the last step in the process; the report of findings.
In most cases you will be given a report of findings and your first treatment immediately after the exam. However, on occasion there are cases where we ask the patient to come back at a later date so that the doctor can do some research in order to give you the best possible recommendations for your case.
Keep in mind that most health issues did not happen overnight, they are the expression of years of untreated repetitive micro trauma. Overnight recovery is usually not a reasonable expectation. Please be patient and allow your body to heal.
X-ray studies are not routinely part of our first patient visit. Most cases can be assessed with out taking x-rays. However, if the Doctor considers x-ray studies necessary in the assessment of your case you will be referred to a local imaging center.
